this is somewhat similar to a law passed in a county in washington state. hmmm i can imagine jollibee and mc do balking on this.

you are right, marya! I patterned my proposal from the Seattle version.
Yes, I just came from a public hearing where Jollibee and Mcdonald’s were represented. They said they cannot comply 100% because there is no cheap container to house their palabok fiesta and mcspaghetti. But their main offices are targeting 2015 to cease using styrofoam products.
2015?! Too far, I told them.

hmmm now that is so sad. will there be a compromise to allow these big fastfood companies to use their styrofoam till 2015 if ever the ban gets approved and be implemented by 2010? if there is, if i were a food service owner, ill come to the Prov. board and protest heheheh. mga mc do kasi dito sa japan alang spaghetti hehehe. there`s always the paper plates with wax lining though.

I updated/amended the proposal to address the concerns of the different sectors. (i.e. separate categories, information campaign, more penalties, add incentives, etc.)
