  • When Kris was UP University Student Council Chair, he lobbied for the passage of a new charter for the University of the Philippines in Congress, and it came true in the form of Republic Act 9500.
  • When Kris was with the OSG, he was also tapped to lobby for a new OSG Law.  The bill eventually became Republic Act 9417.
  • He is the son of 8-time congressman Roque R. Ablan, Jr. and the grandson of the late Governor Roque B. Ablan, Sr.
  • He is married to the beautiful, intelligent and caring Ria Berbano of Alcala, Cagayan.  Their first child, Bea, will turn 5 this February 2015.

i’m very excited and very much happy to see a plastic waste free ilocos.
sir more power to all of us.

sir i would like to ask if we have some seminar-awareness sessions for our fellow ilocanos. i think this would be a great help in order to realize a dream, a plastic waste free ilocos.

    • Hi, Allan! I am so glad I sent the letter to LEAD. I didn’t realize ang dami palang Ilocano na gusto maging plastic bag free ang ilocos. Sige, Kausapin ko si Bokal Jessie Galano (Chairman, Committee on Environment) kung pwede tayo mag-imbita ng environmentalists from Manila and LEAD to give seminars on pro-environment initiatives. Thanks for leaving a comment!

  4. your very much welcome sir.
actually sir m a member of the LEAD Movement.
at present m a Physical Therapy instructor here at Northwestern University.
I tried to incorporate waste management last semester to the subject Science, Technology & Society regarding waste management and it worked.
the students were amazed on what garbage can do and on how they could do something to protect the environment.
they did recycling too as part of their final project.
I’m planning to ask for an NSPT (Civic Welfare Training Service) subject this semester in order for me to inject again the ways on how to do waste management at home (or to the community).

sir sana lahat ng kasama mo sa gobyerno may puso kagaya mo para gumanda ang kalikasan.
sana ganito ang gawin ng karamihan (kung hindi man lahat) na nakaupo sa gobyerno in order for them to help a bit our enviornment and eventually the whole philippines-whole world.

    • That’s a great project, Allan! I also teach in NWU. This sem, I will teach Tourism Law.

      • wow!
        welcome to NWU sir.
        hope you will enjoy here.
hope we could influence more and more students, and even faculties, to do favor for our environment too.
hope to see you at NWU also sir.

  5. I like your Saguip Maestra Program. I hope it was successful at Binsang Elementary School, my alma mater.

    • hi, marnel! I am afraid the Saguip Maestra teacher did not push through in Binsang. Instead, the Education Supervisor transferred the item to Carusikis Elementary School, kasi dun mas kelangan daw.

Don’t worry, if i get additional funds, I will try to put a teacher in Binsang.

  6. Its also a good thing that I came across his name via his blog. Based on what I have read in your CV including your accomplishments, you are an asset of Ilocos Norte.

Just want to say KEEP UP YOUR GOOD WORKS and STAND WHAT YOU BELIEVE ON!

    Cheers fellow UP’IANS!

Who’s your bet for the presidential candidate? Hehehe!
